Very unstable. On the border of Rwanda.
In 2002, the Nyiragongo volcano erupted, covering half of the city in ash, leaving people homeless, and forcing them to rebuild directly over this ash with no other place to go.   The streets were over-crowded and filthy, desperation polluting the air.
These boys were playing in some volcanic ash that our guides for the afternoon were showing us.  They were more than eager to pose and examine the only white girl for miles and miles.
