Kennedy Ndayisenga Nari, the founder of Hakuna Mata Tours, was my tour guide while in Goma, DRC. Not only was Kennedy and his other employees, gentle souls and trustworthy, but they also made sure we were completely safe as we drove through the city.
He did not candy-coat life in Goma. Instead, he drove us around, speaking about the city’s past and the people as a means to better understand the difficulties the Congalise people must face day in and day out.
In order to really “see” a country, one must experience it with locals. Therefore, I would have wanted no one other than Kennedy and his crew to show us Goma that day.
